We
can report that the summer issue of REPArtee was
mailed right on time and perhaps many who had paid for First
Class got theirs today... If not they should arrive before
the weekend. Of course the rest of us who have Standard Mailing
will have to wait till next week or longer to receive our
copy... Sometimes it takes as much as 3 weeks for the Post
Office to deliver Standard mailed items... But REPA saves
about $4,000.00 per issue by using Standard Mail instead of
First Class...

Great News!
For
those with winter or summer homes and especially for your
Editor!
Our
Treasurer and Keeper of the Database, Jerry Frost, has been
working on a program that will enable him to keep TWO (2)
Address of Record for those needing same… He reports
that it is now up and running. So effective immediately those
with winter or summer homes (or any others who might have
two addresses and who would benefit from this new program)
should contact Jerry (or your editor) and give us the below
information…
(1)Your
primary Address of Record including telephone number and E-mail
address if desired…
(2)
Also your secondary Address of Record including telephone
number if one there. This would be the summer or winter home
for most folks…
(3)
Now this is very important so make sure you have it down pat!
We need to know the Date you will be going to and returning
from your secondary Address of Record.
Jerry
says that when the above is entered into the Database he will
have the ability each time a publication mailing list is generated,
twice a year on odd years and three times a year on even years
(when we also mail the new roster) to have either your primary
or secondary address printed on your publication.
Now
also remember, you have the ability to change any address
or date any time you wish. Just contact either Jerry or myself
with those changes. We will enter the information and that
will become your NEW primary and secondary Address of Record
(along with the dates you go from one to the other) and remain
so until you change it with us again… You can make the changes
by telephone, US Mail (our addresses are in the REPA Roster
and REPArtee) or E-mail… As before we do not mind
one bit how many times you make the changes, as long as you
do it!!
As
for mailing dates, we try each year to mail the summer REPArtee
the first part of May and the winter issue the tail end of
December (so the Dues Envelope will arrive in time for mailing
by the Due Date of January 1st each year)... Sometimes though
we are unable to get the winter issue out until the very first
part of January.
The
REPA Roster is always scheduled to be mailed in early
or mid March (even years)…
If
this new program works out (and we need your help to make
it work!) then perhaps the long list of Temporarily Away notices
will cease arriving in my mailbox…
And the need for First Class mailing will disappear too. Truthfully
though, due to the Post Office not following their own rules,
we must report that First Class mailings have been a big disappointment
as regards Temporarily Away forwarding…
Jerry
Frost has worked hard on this important new program so we
do owe him a very big Thank You!

We
are well into the process of putting the summer issue of REPArtee
together... If it stays on schedule we hope to have it mailed
in about a month, that being the first part of May. If you
will still be at a winter home or preparing to go to a summer
home and suspect that your resulting address may not be the
one on file with REPA on May 1st then please double check
with us by any means possible (EM, phone call, letter, note,
carrier pigeon or whatever)... We would much rather take a
little time now to insure the correct mailing address than
try to track you down later (not to mention the cost of replacement
magazines and the mailing thereof)..
Jerry
Frost (our Treasurer) asks that I remind those who have not
paid their 2008 Dues to please do so... The amount is $40
for Regular Members, $35 for Affiliates and $25 for Subscibers.
As you know widows are not required to pay dues but many make
an annual contribution to the Kitty to cover the cost of their
magazines and so on...
Jerry
reports as of today we have unpaid:
132
Regular Members, 25 Affiliates and 1 Subscriber...
If
the 2008 Dues are not paid by July 1st then the member goes
into Bad Standing and if not paid by December 31st then the
member will be removed from the database. This per the REPA
Bylaws...

We
have pretty much completed the Convention News and Registration
pages of this website. We invite you to visit both as they
have boocoo information on the upcoming REPA Convention at
the Sawgrass Marriott, which starts on September 2nd... Of
course there will be much more about the convention in the
upcoming summer issue of REPArtee, which has gone
to the Graphics Designer and should be mailed the early part
of May... Sign up early so as to take the pressure off your
REPA Board of Directors!!! We appreciate that very much!!!
And remember that we give a full refund on your Convention
payment if you find that you cannot attend (and let us know)
before it actually starts!

We
are happy to announce that the 2008/2009 REPA Roster
was mailed today! As all should recall we publish the roster
every two years.

Yesterday,
we OK'd the final proof of the upcoming 2008 - 2009 REPA
Roster... It is scheduled to commence the printing process
on the 18th and will be mailed the very end of February or
the first week in March... As before we changed the color
of the back and front covers (a soft red for this issue) so
as to make it easier to know which is the latest version.
Those 105 or so who paid for First Class should receive theirs
a few days after mailing, the rest over the next two weeks
or so...
The
summer issue of REPArtee is taking shape and we expect
it to go to the printers the tail end of March or early April,
with a planned mailing date the first part of May... As before
this will be the Pre-convention issue and will have much about
the Sawgrass Convention that commences on September 2nd...
Much
more about the convention will be placed on this website later,
including the Registration form and its Instructions as well
as the Form for those wishing to play in the Golf Tournament
(on the Registration page).

REPA
President Ross McCort asked that the following information
be placed on the REPA Website...
The
REPA BOD, in accordance with the Bylaws, will present the
following Slate of Officers for 2009 to the Membership for
consideration and election at the Sawgrass Convention Business
Meeting on September 3rd.
Please
note that due to the resignation of VP/President Elect Duane
Gordon last Friday, at the BOD Meeting, it was neccessary
to select another as President for the proposed Slate, as
Duane would not be moving up to that position. The Board felt
that, under the circumstances, the person selected should
be a Past President.

The
REPA BOD held its first meeting of 2008 yesterday in Peachtree
City, GA. Attending this Board meeting for the first time
were our new Director, Bill Moore and our new Convention Chairman,
Jim Gardner.
Most
of the meeting dealt with preparations for the upcoming Convention
in September at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra
Beach, FL. This included work on the registration form and
its instructions, as commencing this year those attending
will be making their own reservations at the convention hotel.
Much more on the convention will be forthcoming in the summer
edition of REPArtee, now set for a May mailing.
The
REPA Board unaminously selected Captain Virgil Tedder, former
President of REPA and currently the Atlanta REPA Luncheon
leader, as the 2008 inductee for the REPA Hall of Fame. He
will be inducted at the Sawgrass Convention Banquet on September
4th.
Sadly
the Board accepted the resignation of Vice President Duane
Gordon who stated at the meeting that, for health reasons,
he could not continue to serve. Present at the Board Meeting
was Don Teel who was elected, per the Bylaws, to serve out
the remainder of Duane's 2008 term of office.

Happy
New Year!!!
Well,
we can report that the winter issue of REPArtee was
mailed right on time back on December 26th... That is the
good news! However one little goof-up did occur but our printing
company (Geographics) is sending a First Class letter, at
their expense, that we wrote to explain what happened. Which
was that the incorrect 2008 Dues envelope was inserted...
Basically the one from a couple of years ago was printed by
mistake and it has some out-dated information on it... So
please disregard the line about purchasing copies of the Best
of REPArtee... We no longer have any! Instead that line
should be for those wishing to pay for First Class postage
to record the $10.00 for each year and then add it into the
total further down on the form... So, again, ignore the bit
about buying Best of REPArtee magazines and instead
use that line to include payment for First Class mailing of
your REPA publications... Remember too that the $10.00 is
only for each year...
The
REPA Board will be meeting Friday (1/11) at the Hampton Inn
in Peachtree City, GA... More later on this website about
what transpired...
Again,,,,,
Happy New Year and we hope you enjoy your winter issue of
REPArtee....
====================
Our
Treasurer, Jerry Frost, advises that we have as unpaid for
2007 Dues: 14 Regular Members, 7 Affiliates and 1 Subscriber,
for a total of 22 people... As per the REPA Bylaws these 22
people will be removed from our database on January 1st for
non-payment. They have received numerous notices and will
get one more in the upcoming winter issue of REPArtee.
If you are one of this 22 then urge you to send your check
in to avoid being expunged from the database.
